Happenings at this blog

Due to activity on my other blogs this one has been neglected for some time. It may be neglected from its original format for some time to come. I have however decided to make available some "widgets" that I use on the blogs. These will be in the form of txt files that can be downloaded, modified and used. Just clicking on the links will give display example of the widget. Right clicking on the links and then Saving Target As a *.txt file will get you the necessary JAVA/HTML code.

What are the posts on this site?

What are the posts on this site?

The posts on this site are intended to give an idea of the geographical location of the visitors to my blogs. When I started this third site (on April 15, 2007), I used Google Analytics to compile this information. The interface that provided the full information I wanted was discontinued in mid-July 2007. I have no complaints since the service was free. I started gathering my information using StatCounter on July 1, 2007. This means the posts on this site are divided into two groups. The older group uses Google Analytics information. This group is for the period from April 15 to June 30, 2007. There will be no further additions to this group. All cumulative posts are complete as of June 30, 2007.

The second group is based on the information gathered from StatCounter. For the time being, this will be the source of all new posts. Cumulative posts start from scratch on July 1, 2007.

The posts from StatCounter are divided into sets posted for the Saturday of every week and the end of every month. Each of these sets are based on three reports (Summary, City/Region:Subregion/Country, Country/Region:Subregion/City) for each of the three blogs separately and a fourth combined set. Each set has posts for the week and/or month as well as cumulative information from July 1, 2007 to the posting date. I have included links to the Wikipedia articles on each geographical entity and tried to include a flag, coat of arms, seal, or logo when I could. If you find your own local area lacking on this score, I would appreciate any better symbols.

The older posts from Google Analytics are also divided into sets posted for the Saturday of every week and the end of every month. Each of these sets are based on three reports (Summary, City/Region/Country, Country/Region/City) but only for each of the two original blogs (A Proud Liberal and This Day In History) separately and a third combined set. Each set has posts for the week and/or month as well as cumulative information from April 15, 2007 to the posting date.

This first Table of Contents contains links to Sub-Tables of Contents for each posting date.
